In this project, our task was to develop a web app that helps pet owners find reliable pet sitters in their local area. The goal was to create a service that connects pet sitters with pet owners, allowing users to sign up as either a pet owner or a pet sitter.
Trust and safety were top priorities, so the web app needed to include a feature for leaving detailed reviews on sitters and a way for pet sitters to send updates and pictures to pet owners while caring for their pets.
The target audience is individuals between the ages of 25 and 55.
Group objective: Market research and analysis, concept development and task flow design
We initiated the project with comprehensive market research, analysing competitors and identifying gaps in the pet sitter market.
Developed user personas and used the "how might we" and "served by" methods to create scenarios to guide the design process. Brainstormed with the group to generate ideas that align with user needs. Additionally, we created task flows, conducted a user test and interview, and developed low-fidelity wireframes and a prototype using Figma.
Individual objective: Graphic profile and marketing page
I created the graphic profile for the company by selecting a cheerful and inviting colour scheme and typography that reflects the web app's pet sitter service and the target audience.
I created a high-fidelity wireframe and prototype for the marketing page of the website, ensuring compatibility with both desktop and mobile platforms. The page highlights the main features of the web app, including easy navigation to two different sections, one for pet sitters and the other for pet owners. It also showcases the services provided, the essential reassurances regarding pet sitter verification, and also offers the capability to download the app.
